What is deductible
When filing a claim for a covered loss, your deductible is the set cost you’ll pay before your policy kicks in. Depending on your personal property policy, you may also have a limit, or a maximum amount that Allstate will pay you to repair or replace whatever is damaged or stolen.
About insurance limits
If you have very valuable belongings, it may be a good idea to increase your limits or add optional coverage. To check your limits, refer to your Policy Declarations under the Coverage and Applicable Deductibles or Scheduled Personal Property section.
Why buy flood insurance coverage
When you purchase an NFIP flood policy through an Allstate agent, you’re helping protecting yourself from the financial burden flooding can cause. In fact, just one inch of water in a home can cost more than $25,000 in damage. Instead of paying out of pocket or taking out loans to cover your expenses, flood insurance can help make the recovery process quicker, easier and less costly.
What are optional coverages
Allstate offers a variety of different coverage options to help protect what makes your home unique. In addition to standard home insurance coverage, you can choose from all kinds of optional coverage to better protect the things you love most.
What is condo insurance
It generally helps pay to repair your unit and your belongings if they are stolen or damaged by certain perils, such as fire or vandalism.
What does your policy cover
It depends where you live, but standard homeowners insurance policies will typically help pay to repair damage caused by certain risks, or perils, including:
- Fire and smoke
- Windstorm or hail
- Falling objects
- Frozen plumbing
- Water damage from plumbing, water heater, heating or cooling system or appliance
What is a policy declaration
A Home Insurance Policy Declarations is the document that outlines the coverage, limits and deductibles you’ve purchased. You’ll receive a new Declarations every renewal period, which is usually every year. You should always read through your renewal to make sure it’s accurate, you have sufficient coverage for the things you love and you’re up to date on any changes in premium and other important info.
What is personal umbrella insurance
Personal umbrella insurance helps protect you against large liability claims. When you’ve reached the liability limit on your property policy, a personal umbrella policy will kick in to help prevent you from paying out of pocket.
What is optional coverage
A standard Allstate homeowners policy might not quite cover all the things you love in and around your home. That’s why you have the option to add additional coverage, like yard and garden insurance, musical instruments insurance and more.
